I don't know about you, but it seems we don't have as many heroes as we used to ... until now. Over the past few years if you walked up to someone and asked them who their heroes were, they would probably struggle with coming up with someone. Certainly some might say their mother or father, some may have a sports hero, or some may speak of a religious figure. I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be many politicians.

I was reading the Wall Street Journal this morning and one of their sports writers, Jason Gay, quoted this, "The brave among us are still going to work so schlubs like me can stay home, pecking away at their laptops. I don't know if we'll ever be able to repay all of the human courage we're seeing all around us, but I hope we try. There are inspiring people all around us".

Truck drivers, UPS and Amazon drivers, the folks at the grocery stores and pharmacies, school teachers teaching remotely, and the bravest of the brave, our health care workers, all heroes in my book. Can you imagine being a part of a housekeeping crew at a hospital right now? A patient dies of Covid-19 and it's your job to suit up and clean up that room for the next incoming patient. Heroes indeed!
