As I visit
jobsites or stop into some of your offices I’m always encouraged to see a past
“Thought for the Week” posted on the wall.
The ones you see above have been on my bathroom mirror at my home for
about 12 years. They represent some of
our core values here at Williams Company.
As I watch
us give a presentation for a new project to a valued client, hold a weekly
subcontractor meeting, turnover a bid book to an owner, or complete the
turnover documents for a project, it’s the preparation that happened days and
weeks and sometimes months before that make the difference between success and
mediocrity. If we take the time to plan
and prepare in all we do, then we will always be successful on our task and
responsibilities!
Having the
discipline to do it right, and not just throw something together is the
difference between a professional and an amateur. Our daily and weekly task,
striving for excellence, must become a habit and routine.
If you need
a reminder of the goals you are trying to accomplish, place them on your
bathroom mirror at your home. Look at them every morning as you get ready for
your day. Take a minute to reflect on what you are trying to get done. And then
go out there and do it!
